The brainchild of Assemblywoman Annette Quijano who represents the 20th District Come Grow With Us! is a unique public/private partnership who's mission is to bring food producing gardens to non-profits and schools in Union County.
We make friends, plant gardens, teach skills, grow food, share food, sell food (raise money!), create jobs, & plant more gardens!
- Make friends with local government officials, community groups, educators, non-profits leaders, faith based organizations and the community-at-large to support long-term development of the urban food system.
- Plant gardens in partnership with local community groups, non-profits and schools.
- Teach skills needed to support, maintain and promote an entrepreneurs garden.
- Grow food and educate the community on healthy food choices and healthy lifestyles.
- Share food with volunteers and the community in need.
- Sell food (raise money!) through a garden-to-market program.
- Create jobs, develop life skills, and contribute to our communities economic development.
-
